Week 28 Update! The Third Trimester Has Begun!
We have officially hit the third trimester! 12 more weeks to go!! I had my doctor's appointment today where I was tested for gestational diabetes. I got to drink this lovely "fruit punch" looking juice which tasted like an overly sugared popsicle. I won't get the results for a few more days but if it comes back positive they're going to want to retest me again just to make sure the results are accurate. Hopefully if that is the case I will be able to swig down another lovely tasting juice!
Adam and I have signed up for our first birthing classes. We are doing a 5 week class beginning July 26. Each session is about two hours long. We are looking forward to this and I am especially excited to see Adam put on the sympathy belly! :)
Baby Baird has been especially active lately. His kicks are getting stronger each day! Looks like Adam and I are going to have an active little bugger on our hands! While our doctor was checking his heart beat today, Baby Baird decided to kick the heart monitor probe. Guess he didn't like being poked too much! :)
Adam and I have been discussing our birth plan and as I'm sure most of you know, I will be getting an epidural. I do not handle pain well and I do not see anything wrong with getting a little help for the pain. For the most part we will play it by ear. We obviously can't predict what's going to happen during labor but I'm hoping in the end I won't be in labor for 20 hours! Unless it is absolutely necessary, I do not want a C-section. I understand that I might not have control over this but unless it's a medical emergency I would prefer to do it the old fashioned way!
According to our books, Baby Baird weighs roughly 2lbs. 5oz. He is now able to blink, cough, hiccup and take practice breaths.
Adam and I appreciate everyone's love and support so far! We are very excited and eager to see what happens in the next 12 weeks!
